Friday 19 January - Le P'tit Canon

It was another wet day today with intermittent showers all day. The birds in Monceau Parc didn't seem to mind very much. Some half a dozen parrots were quietly eating the seeds on the old plane tree with the occasional squawk to give away their location.

We had a reservation for lunch at Le P'tit Canon, We made it for 1430 after most people had left. We explained this was our last meal there as we will be leaving for London on Monday.  It was an opportunity to take pictures of our friends at this great bistrot.  Champagne was on the house.
Christian runs things out front

Isabel, married to Christian, has a firm hand in the kitchen

Adrian, right, manages the bar while Frederick juggles the coffee among other things

Julie was our charming server

The ardoise sets out what the kitchen is doing.  It is always difficult to decide

We both started with an enormous plate of foie gras

Mary had the confit de canard

I had the souris d'agneau (lamb shank)

There was some discussion about the excellent French mustard so Julie had to demonstrate
With Cheverny, white for Mary and red for me, it was an outstanding meal among some good friends.  It was hard to say goodbye but we told then we are looking forward to our next visit.
